Pegasus Brainstorming Poll -- last chance!

Pegasus Brainstorming Poll -- last chance!
Oh, my! Is it that time again? It is! It's time to talk about...

THE PEGASUS AWARDS!

Created to recognize and honour excellence in filking, whether it be an excellent song, a flare for performance, or an excellent body of musical work (only bodies of music, people, we don't recognize excellence in Interfilk wenching...yet), the Pegasus Awards are given out annually at the Ohio Valley Filk Festival.

Now, you've heard all this before, so you're probably wondering why I'm telling you again. And the answer is, quite simply, this:

The Pegasus Awards are global, not geographic: they belong to the entire world filk community, not just to the people who attend OVFF. That means that, in order to present a fair and balanced view of what filkers think should be recognized, we need to find out what those things are. However, since we have to actually start drawing up a ballot eventually, the yearly Brainstorming Poll can't stay open forever. And, as such, the 2006 Pegasus Awards Brainstorming Poll will be closing in a week, at 12:01 AM PDT, on Friday the 22nd.

The Brainstorming Poll is truly vital to keeping the Pegasus Awards global and accessible, because people often don't realize who hasn't been recognized, or how many good songs are out there, until they see the poll results come in. So please. Think about the filkers, and fill out your 2006 Brainstorming Poll. Five minutes of your time could be the fractal butterfly that changes filk history.

Thank you!

In case you missed the links above, you can reach the Brainstorming Poll at:

Becca Allen on the radio

From Becca Allen's LJ:

"For the second year, themadblonde has been asked to produce a live radio program about the Winter Solstice and some of its celebrations. She has graciously asked me to join her again to perform a few songs. Here's the scoop:

This Sunday, 12/18, be sure to tune into KFAI Radio, 90.3 FM
(Minneapolis) and 106.7 FM (St. Paul) and online at www.kfai.org ,
from 3-4 PM for "Keeping Yule Green". Host Karen Ellery will be sharing an hour of holiday music and stories and will be discussing the use, history, music, & myths of our favorite winter holiday plants. She will be joined by Kevin Carnahan, a well-loved Twin Cities actor, who will be sharing some of his favorite stories and myths, and by myself, singing some of the many lovely songs from this Solstice season. Enjoy an hour of stories and songs associated with holly, ivy, mistletoe, and evergreen trees."
